Zeus Sánchez, born in 1985, graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Málaga (2009-2012) and furthered his education at the Universidad Complutense, Madrid, with a Master’s Degree in Art and Creation Research (2013). Te was granted the Art Inflammation and Me production scholarship within the Art and Illnesses Professorship by Universidad Politécnica of Valencia. In 2015 he was awarded with Iniciarte Scholarship, granted to the most promising, emergent Andalusian artists. His artworks have been awarded and exhibited in cities like Madrid, Bilbao, Málaga, Amsterdam, Alicante, Seville, Zaragoza and Marbella, among others; and acquired by Universities and private collectors. In his collection “Je est un autre”, the artist uses a technique he has been developing for five years in which the overlapping of different pictorial layers, with silk and silk paper, creates an image that reveals from the distance and fades away in the proximity. This results in subtle and spectral artworks which play with the eye perception and aim to make the trained spectator appreciate their subtle nuances and enjoy the prolonged conversation with the artworks. In his collection, “La necesidad de ese otro desconocido” (The Other Strangers’ Need), the saturation of neutral and lively colours mix, fragment and make the images vibrate to such an extent that each of them become a fluent identity, rather than an individual.
